Settlement Services

The May Murray Neighbourhood centre is well known for its excellence in settlement services. With over 30 years experience in delivering a broad range of community and welfare related services, our Centre has the right skills and experience to assist you with inquiries.

Through the Settlement Grants Program funded by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) and other funding agencies we provide information and assistance to refugees, humanitarian entrants and recent arrivals from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Our services are available in Marrickville, Petersham, Surry Hills and Ultimo.

Information and assistance are available on topics such as:

  • Employment, education and training
  • English language courses
  • Housing and accommodation
  • Income support - Centrelink
  • Legal services
  • Health
  • Women, family and children’s services
  • Domestic violence and sexual assault

Settlement services are funded by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA) under the Settlement Grants Program (SGP).The aim of the SGP is to assist migrants and humanitarian entrants to become active participants in the Australian community  as soon as possible after arrival.

The May Murray Neighbourhood Centre in Marrickville provides free computer access to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) website. Download and print your information for free
